Taekwondo Champion Kelly Koutroumpi becomes a Plasmaide Pro

We are excited to announce Taekwondo Champion Kelly Koutroumpi as a Plasmaide Pro.

Kelly is an 11 x National Taekwondo Champion and since adding Plasmaide to her regime has noticed a significant different to her well-being and cognitive sharpness.

"As an athlete of an individual sport like taekwondo, being constantly focused and alert is essential. Since I started using Plasmaide, I’ve noticed a major difference in my overall well-being and my ability to stay mentally sharp when it matters most. Training twice a day demands fast recovery, and PLASMAIDE helps me come back ready for every session so I can give my 100% each time and make the most out of each session.
Plasmaide has become a non-negotiable part of my daily routine, and I truly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their performance and recovery"

Get to know Kelly....

How did you first get into Taekwondo?

I first started Taekwondo at the age of 6. My parents thought it would be a good idea, in order to learn self defence and to build a strong and confident character. Later on and after I competed for the first time, I fell in love with the sport.

What do you like to do on a day off when you're not training or competing?

I enjoy spending time outside with family and friends. I really love spontaneous ideas so something like a road trip, a long walk outside in the nature or just a coffee with the right people , recharges my battery.

Is there a routine, superstition, or habit you never skip before a competition?

I am really organised as a person, so taking care of every little detail in my recovery, nutrition and performance is a non-negotiable part of my routine before a competition. I would say that my pre-game habit is my prayer and my self-talk to regroup and lock in.

Who has had the biggest influence on your journey as an athlete, and why?

I would say my family and close friends for sure. They have all been there for me since day one and their support is so valuable to me. Also my coaches, nutritionist and physiotherapists have of course helped me evolve and have had a huge impact on my journey.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you outside of sport?

I have a bachelor's in Biology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I am interested in neuroscience or more specific in neuroimmunology, neuropsychology and in doing research on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson.

What do you enjoy most about Taekwondo?

The good thing is I enjoy every little detail of it and I am in love with the whole process. Taking care of my nutrition and recovery, the double sessions, the fatigue, the weight cuts, the competitions, the people I get to meet, the happy and the sad moments. Every little part of this journey makes Taekwondo unique for me . I have seen my self grow so much through this in terms of my character and skills, and I am more than grateful for all the experiences I have had and even more excited for what's still out there for me to chase.

What do you do to mentally reset after a tough loss or setback?

I love this question! Being able to see the losses and the setbacks as something positive it's hard to do when you are chasing specific results. I personally believe that, the essence is not in what happens to us..it's in how we interpret every situation! It's up to us to see a loss as a lesson that will help us grow and a setback as a motive for a bigger comeback. You can't win later on if you don't lose and make mistakes. So after a loss, I regroup, I analyse all my mistakes and see what lessons I can learn from this situation. I believe that a loss or a setback isn't something negative. It's part of the process and a much needed one if you are someone who cares more about consistently growing than chasing quick results. With hard and quality work adapted to your needs based on the lessons learned, the results we want will definitely come. It's just a matter of time!

What are your goals for 2026?

A have some important competitions I am about to compete to. My goal in every single one of them is to give my 100% and perform at my best, controlling the controllables and chasing the best possible result. My major goal is to be a part of the National team of Greece for the year 2027 and join the Pre-Olympic team aiming the LA 2028 Olympics.
